Dear Jacinda | SLJ | W2

This week I got asked to write a letter to our New Zealander prime minister Jacinda Ardern. It had to include a issue i could choose. I chose Measles. The reason why i picked Measles is because it is a very contagious virus that spreads. It is a very big issue.

  1. Hi Charlize!
I like your Blog post about the issue you want to have fix. I think you should work on writing a bigger explanation to hook readers in. I also love that you chose the issue of Measles.
    Keep it up!

  3. Greetings Charlize,

I have noticed that you have created a blog post on the Summer Learning Journey's Dear Jacinda. I have also done this activity on my blog. I totally agree with you about the measles's issue. What other issues have occurred to you? What do you think Jacinda Ardern would do to make it safer for New Zealand?

    Great Work!

  4. Kia Ora Charlize! Your letter is very convincing, especially the use of language. I agree that this is already a big issue, that continues to spread. I think warning people, or getting vaccinations sounds like a great idea that you wrote! How do you think Jacinda Ardern would react to your letter? Great blogging!

  5. Mōrena Charlize! How are you doing? I’ve just looked outside and the sky turned grey! What? Summer come back!

I really enjoyed reading your letter to Jacinda Ardern. You’ve provided some great points about measles being an important issue the government should address. What ideas could you suggest to Jacinda to help her change this situation? I really like the way you’re aware of other countries being in danger from measles. It’s really important for families to check if they are protected against measles so they don’t become sick, but also so other people internationally are safe from the virus. Ka pai for all your effort on this post!

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive

  6. Hello Charlize!,
I have enjoyed reading your letter to Jacinda Ardern about measles. You have a persuasive letter. Like you said, measles are very contagious and can spread quickly to other people, that's why we should get measles shots, if we don't already have them. It is very important to have shots, so we don't catch measles.

    Awesome Work!

  7. Hi Charlize,
I liked how you feel that the measles outbreak is such a big problem, especially since over 80 people have died from it in Samoa. If you had the chance do you think you would like to speak to Jacinda in person?
