Commenting | Smart comment

This week for commenting I have comment on Hosea's blog post about his Infographic. It was about a solider in WW1. He used some of the 5W's. I think his blog post was interesting but I thought it needed to be worked on.


Hauora | Inquiry


LI:to learn the 4 dimensions of Hauora. 
This week we are learning more about hauora and the 4 dimensions of hauora. They are Social well being, Physical well being, Spiritual well being and Mental/Emotional well being. We had to make a poster, skit, movie/film and animation using one of the 4 dimensions.

Social well being is our relations ships that we can have with other people in different ways. We can have relationships with family, friends, Pets and others. Physical well being is about your body. Spiritual well being is about your beliefs and self worth. Mental/Emotional well being is how you control your emotions and feelings. Its the way we think as we grow up. 

Duffy show Assembly

Today PBS had a duffy show assembly. We had a special vistior Robert Rakete.

Robert Rakete is known for one of the dancers in the program Dancing with the stars. Robert Rakete is a radio speaker on the Breeze and also known as the brown Wiggles. He was a student in Mayfield primary school in Otara. And went to Auckland Grammar College. His favourite book is asterix


Tongue Twisters


LI: To develop pronunciation.
This week for can do I have done Tongue twisters. The sentence I did was "She sells seashell by the sea shore". It was challenging for me to say but I manged to say it. 

Basic Fact boxes


This week for basic facts boxes i have done the speed demon challenge up to 5. My time was 3 minutes and 53 secounds.

Imaginative Recount


LI: To write an imaginative recount.
This week for writing we are writing an imaginative recount about the story little red riding hood using the perspectives of the main characters. We are using the structure TREE. Title, Reveal, Events, Ending. The punctuations we used were: Full stops, Ellipse, Exclamation marks, Speech marks.

Music

Today for music the songs we did were shotgun, One call away and others. We used ukulele  chime bars and Xylophone to play these songs. The notes we use are C, Am, F, G. People could play on the keyboards (Free Time). And other people could go outside and learn the songs on the ukulele. 




Term 1 kiwican overview

LI: To recap everything we did in kiwi can.
Today in kiwi can we recapped all of our learning from term 1. Our big theme was positive relationships. Our 3 modules were:
- Positive communication
- Friendship
-Cooperation

We made three groups. Each group talked about the 5W's & H for one module. After we talked as a group, each group shared their ideas back to the class. This term I enjoyed the topics and theme that we did as a group in kiwi can. This term I have learnt that friendship is when you make good relationships with people. I think I need to be better at active listening.

Statistics | Maths


LI: To learn something about the class or school using statistics.
Statistics means to gather information/Data. This week we have to gather all our work and put it into a presentation (Slide) for the past weeks. We have used Graphs and others in our slide. 

Ronald and Keith | Infographic

LI: To unlock keywords to summarise a text.
This week we have been learning about soldiers who fought in WW1 - WW2. We have started making one Infographic and made two this week. This week for my solider I have done Ronald McLean and Keith Hunter. And used the 5 W's and the H to find out who this person is.

Handwriting | Extra

Today for our extras I have decided to pratice my handwriting. I did the letter Bb Capital letter and lowercase letter. After i did the letters i had to write a sentence using the letter.

Hauora | 4 dimensions | Inquiry


LI: To find out the 4 dimensions to a healthy body. 
Today we were learning about the four dimension that keep you stay healthy. Those dimentions are: Physical, Mental / Emotion, Spiritual, & Social. The Maori names are: Taha Tinana, Taha Hinengaro, Taha Whanau, Taha Wairua. Physical means development with your body. Mental / Emotion is about the brain, thought process & feelings. Spiritual is about about the morals, values and beliefs of something. Social is about friends, family and how you can have a positive relationship with someone. I really enjoyed this activity with my group members and hope I could apply this learning to teach someone in the future.

Basic Facts boxes

This week for basic facts boxes we had time ourselves. My time was three minutes twenty seven seconds and thirty nine minliy seconds.

Harriet Simeon | Infographic

LI: To unlock keywords to summarise the text.
This week for reading we have been learning more about the soldiers who fought in WW1. We used our research skills on what we could find about our soldiers, Nurses and others. We had to find the Who, What, When, Where, Why & How. My person was a nurse. Her name was Harriet Simeon that was medic doctor. When we were finished our 5W's and the H we had to make a Infographic.

Kiwi Sport | Ki O Rahi

This week for kiwi sport we played Ki o rahi based on a legend or rahi. There are 2 groups called Taniwha and Kioma. The taniwha gets points by hiting the tupu with the ki (ball) while the kaitiaki tries to guard the tupu. The Kioma gets points by runing around and hiting the po (Teeths).

Music

This week for music we were learning more chords and notes. We used a ukulele chime bars and others to learn more different songs. I was on the ukulele and we got to learn songs on a sheet of paper learnt them outside. The notes we use are C,F,G & Am.  

Kiwi Can

LI: To build positive relationships.
Today in kiwi can we were learning about friendship. We learnt that there are times we can say NO. We talked about situations were it is okay to say NO!. Wee discussed different ways to say no that cause disrespect.  We did a activity called empathy rold play. We needed to decide the way to say no.
Our options were,
- No thanks
- lets do something else instead
- its just not my thing
- its not a nice thing to do.

Imaginative Recount | Tree



LI: To write a imaginative recount. 
This week for writing we wrote a recount. we used the story little red riding hood. We had to work in pairs and had to write like if we were little red riding hood or the wolf.   

Statistics


LI: To learn something about the class or school about statistics.
This week for maths we are cleaning data. Statistics means to gather information or data. We had to make a survey of where people like to rest in PBS.
