Peace

LI: To explore some definitions of peace./LI: To investigate and recognize characteristics, actions and symbols of peaceful activists. This week for inquiry we learnt about what peace is. First we got into groups of five. In my group I had Sakina, Victoria, Florence and Alayah. In our groups we wrote the antonyms and synonyms of peace. After we did that, we split ourselves in one group of three and a pair. I was with Sakina. In our pair or group we looked at photos and wrote down one to three words that describe the photo, what each image makes us feel and what we think the peoples perspectives are. We also made sentences using the word we used to describe the image. After that, we made a google draw and wrote what we think that peace means.

Basic Fact boxes


This week I did my basic fact boxes. For this activity you have to get everything right under 20s. Here is an example of mine. We did this for our maths and this is also a maths subject activity that we use for our number bonds.

SSR selfie

This week we had to summarise a book. We had to read the book for at lets 15 minute. Then we had to summarise it. I did the book Energy. This book is about how energy works. This book tells you what Energy is and it explains.

Kiwi Sport | Boxing

LI: To Learn Counters and come backs after somebody has throwed a punch.

Today for kiwi sport we learnt defences. But first we played a warm up call stuck in the mud. We had 4 taggers with noddles if you get tag then you have to be still like a starfish. To be unfree someone has to go under your legs to be free. The first taggers where Kaitlyn,Fau,Leroy,Oscar.
The first drill we did was guard,cross,Left hook,Cross. Guard is in rock potion and then bring your hands up to your head. Cross is left hand punch and then left hook is when you have to get loaded on your left side. Our next combo was bridge. Bridge was slide back slide forward jab,cross,left hook.

Maori

Today we had our Maori lesson. We got handed 2 pieces of paper and we had to label it. The labels where food they were panana,Tomato,Aporo,Oaniaporo,Inu aporo,kanga,tihi,tohi,ika,hei,hei,retihi,hua whenua,paraoa,poaka,poua,taupoki,hanawhiti. These lables are food. We labled them on our 2 piece of paper and then we had to color it how ever we want.

Kiwi Can

Today for kiwi can our new topic is respect for our environment. Our theme is respect.

We first talked about what respect for our environment means.It means care for our property. 
Our first game we played was called 4 corners. For this game one person has to be in the middle and when miss paidge says 4 corners we have to get to a corner and the person in the middle has to pick the corner that was the loudest. 

Then after that we played a game called invisible tag we got split into 2 groups. one group on one side and the other group on the other side. When miss Paidge says a number that number amount of people goes up and goes around the basket ball hoop. Then miss paidge says someones name and they have to try and get the try.

Infering

LI: to infer thoughts and emotions.
This week we learnt how to pause a video and infer from that video. We had to discuss with our group for our first infer. Then we had to go off and made our others. 

Exchanging


Today for maths we had to learn how to exchange money to make our stack of money thin and he had to make videos of how to exchange 1 dollar notes to exchange for a 10 dollar note but we had to give him 10 1 dollar notes and then we could exchange all of our money. Same for 10-100. For this maths i worked with Juel.

Infering

L.I is to learn how to infer by looking at a image.
This week in Reading we have been learning about Inferring. Mr Wong made a slide with Images on them. On those Images we had to Infer about that image. He also did an Example for us so that we would have a better understanding for what to do. We also had to get into partners so that we could talk to each other about our inferences that we make. My partner for this was Suila. It was good to have a partner so that we could talk about our ideas and get to share them.

How to tell the time.

This week we have been learning about time. We got taught how to tell the time and how to use it. But today i made a poster of an example and what time is and how to solve it.

Verb Tenses


LI: To identify verb tenses./LI: To identify the verb tenses: past, future and present continuous. This week for writing we made videos of the verbs. First we watched a 30 second clip of a owl. Before that we told each other our predictions. After we watched the clip, we told us other 10 verbs. Then we told the teacher the past, future or present word for the verb. Once we did that we got into partners. My partner was Sakina. In our partners we made a google slide to add in the videos of the verbs. We had to do 20 verbs and we couldn't use the verbs that we said before. The present continuous tells us about what something is happening now. The past tells us about what happened before. Lastly the future tells us about what will happen.

Kiwi Sport | Boxing.

Today we had our kiwi sport (boxing).  We got into partners Mine was Juel. We went over what we did last week. But today we are defending we did many skills. The first skill is the guard. For this skill we had to be in our rock position. And our hands just go up to our head to block our hole face. Our next one was when our partner has a noddle and they have to place it down on our shoulder  while we slip to the side. Then we did another one it was when the partner with the noddle has to swing the noddle and we had to slide back. Then we did the last one it was when our partner has to place a noddle on our shoulder and we have to make a "U" with our whole body. Then we went over it again. But at the end we all had fun.

Kiwi Can

Today for kiwi can our theme was respect, And our topic was respect for our community. We first got into our game it was called Tunnel ball. For this game we had to get into a circle and this game included a ball. Our legs had to spread open and then we put one of our hand behind our back. Then people have to try and get the ball through your legs. Then we got into our activity it was called hand soccer. For this game miss paige put us into to groups and we had to form a line. We got numbered of to 1-10. I was 8 for this game. This game also included a ball. Its like soccer but with our hands. We also got points. After that game the points were 12-10 we had a tough game.



Maori Huawai

 LI: To learn how to pronounce Maori Vegetable. Today we had to create a poster showing vegetables in Maori. Me and my partner farzana. We also recorded our self pronouncing the Maori Vegetables. We went on the Maori dictionary to find the Maori words for that Vegetable. We did Tomato (Tōmato), Cucumber (Kūkama), Beetroot (Pīti), Lettuce (Rērihi)
 


Trench Warfare|Interactive Notebook

LI: To learn information about trenches. This week for inquiry we learnt about trench warfare. First we went on the interactive notebook. Then we went onto the trench warfare slide. For the trench warfare my group and I decided to include information about sandbags, barbed wire fences, no man's land, frostbite and insects. We went on links to find the information we needed about trenches. I learnt a lot about the parts of a trench and more.

Today I did Inferring about a book called Alfie bloom and the talisman thief. We had to describe what should be in there kete. I wrote an bow and arrow here is some tips on why I chose the bow and arrow on my DLO. I also wrote a little bit of information about this book.

SSR Selfie

This week we had to summarise a book. We had to read the book for at lets 15 minute. Then we had to summarise it. I did the book heat. This book is about heat. Heat is a form of energy. This book tells you what heat is and it explains it.


Mounted art

This week we have completed our art we have completed our Christmas,max gimblett and our armistice day. When we were finished all our art we had to make a blurb or writing to describe our art to put up on the wall. Then we could glue our art on our piece of paper. When we wrote our writing we had to figure out the size to place on our art of paper. 

Touch Tornament

This week Tuesday panmure bridge went to Dunkirk field for a touch tournament. LS1 and LS2 got split into 4 groups. We lost to stone fields, We lost to Sylvia park, Lost to panmure district, Lost to  Sylvia park again. But at the end we all had fun.

Paikea | Maori


This week we have been doing Maori. For Maori we had to made a DLO about paikea.  Paikea was a man who was drowning in the sea so a humpback whale came to help him and brang him back to Aotearoa.

Kiwi Sport | Boxing

 The 3 commandments are Respect,Discipline,Safety. We had to repeat after Pax our coach " I will have respect for myself, my coach, my peers and the sport of boxing" and for the discipline " I will have the discipline to turn up to every boxing session and give my 100% for safety " I will not cause harm to others and only practise boxing in a safe environment under the guidance of a coach.

This week for kiwi sport we learnt a new combo. We first got into partners mine was Farzana. We played paper,scissors,rock to see which partner goes first to put the glove on. We had 30 seconds to help our other partner put there glove on.

When were finished we had to get on the line and finally learnt our combo. Our fist combo was (jab, jab,cross) And the other partner has two noddles and the partner with the gloves on has to aim for the noddles. We had a couple of try's to get people used to it. 

Then for our other combo we did (jab,cross,left hook,cross). It was a little bit hard for me and my partner because i had to do the noddles and my partner has to remember the pattern. 

Then for the last combo we did (jab,cross,Left hook,Right hook,Left uppercut,Right uppercut) For the potion we had to always remember is the rock. Is when our feet is on the train tracks and our hands are underneath our eyes and we have to be stable too. 

Then after that wegot into our plank potion and we had to high five our partner 20x. After that we all had fun.

Kiwi Can

This week for kiwi can we played a game called remote. This game Mr mat had to control us. When he says pause we jump on the spot. And if he said rewind then we have to go back to our spot backwards.  and if he says something that isn't the proper words then we are out. And there was play it was when Mr Mat will trick us by going Back, run , go . It was a fun game.

Then we talked about community the people that are community, Buildings and others. Then we  went outside to play invisible tag. for this game we had to get into 2 groups. One group on one side and the other group on the other side. if Mr Mat calls out a number then the number of people has to go around the basket ball hoop. Then he says a persons name and they run because they have the ball and if some one tags you then they have the ball but you cant tag them again.  then they have to try and make it to the end. Then we had the last round who ever wins is the champion. The last round was finshed the winner was chris's team.

This week for SSR selfie we had to take a photo of a book that you are reading and then we had to talk about it. I did the book how to speak spook. This book was about a little boy who talked to a ghost dog his pet. He is the only person who could see his pet dog. Then he wanted to go to the sprit of the ghost to change him to a real dog. 

Armistice day (Poppy Drawing)





This week we have been collaborating with others. 
For my first art I did painting, max style. what I had to think very carefully is the measuring. People where getting in trouble for not using the ruler. I had to make the back round black so then i can but the other painting on the top. Then I did my  Armistice art, I had a very creative idea of what i could do. Then I did my colour pencil, Christmas. Mine was the grinch as santa.

Armistice Day


This week we have been learning about armistice.

before we got into any of the work first we first got into partners. Mine was Fau. Then we got into our work. On the first slide we had to watch two videos about the last post. Traditional an guitar. Then going down the page we made it to the question: Why is it played? It was played for 17,000 who had lost their lives in the first war.Then on the next slide it was about the fallen and ode. These where poems on videos that we watched. Here is the information on the slide.
After that slide we went on to the last slide. On this slide it had lots of information about the Poppy's . we had to write about why they use these poppy's Info on the slide show. Then we had to find images of poppy's and attribute them.

Max Gimblett


 This week we have learnt about Max Gimblett. We got into partners or a group. My partner was Juel to finish this task. We had to find the key facts about him and that was where he was born,when he was born,where his art has been displayed, he did something interesting in 2015 and 2016.

After we were finished that we moved onto the other slide. On slide 4 we had to find the definition of a quatrefoil. The definition of a quatrefoil is a flower or a four leaf clover. Then we had to answer: Why dose max use this design quatrefoil? Then we had to find 6 photos of quatrefoils and attribute them.

Then we moved on the art of remembrance. This was the last slide we had to do. On this slide we had to find the who,what,when,where, and how. Who was involved? What happend? When was the quatrefoil made? Where was the church? How did they hang it up?

Film Festival Comment

This week i commented on Pt england room 7's movie. There movie was cool it was called dodge ball. I think they did a really good job at there movie. I looked through the comments and they were interesting and saying nice things about room 7.

U - Turn

LI: To make a book interavitive. This week we had to make a interavtive quiz. We had to do 2 te reo questions,3 vocab,3 figrative, and 1 idiom. in our quiz about the book u-turn. We first infer what the book was about. My idea for what the book was about was it might be cyberbulling.

WW1


LI: To learn about the causes, conflict and resolution to World War 1 (WW1). This week for inquiry we had to do the interactive notebook. First we had to do the new weapons of WW1. We had to write down the weapons in air, sea and land. We also had to include images and the effect the weapons had on the war. There were links on the slide to give us the information we needed. Once we did that we did the battle of WW1. For this we had to answer questions about the war. There were links on this slide too. I learnt a lot of new things about the war. i also worked with sakina to finsh this task. 

Evaluate



LI. To evaluate writing samples using the PBS writing rubric. This week for writing we had a test and we had to write about the times you had with your family. I wrote about my parents wedding. We also did evaluate. The language features are first person,time order. The struture of a recount is Tree. First person is me,I,us. Time order is what happend first,secound then last. T is tittle,R is reveal,E is events,E is ending.

Kiwi Sport | Boxing

This week for boxing we first had to put our gloves on. we had 90s to put our gloves on. Then after that we had to get into partners mine was Farzana. We got into a big circle and we tested our jab and cross. 3 commandments Respect,Discipline,Safety. We had to repeat after Pax our coach " I will have respect for myself, my coach, my peers and the sport of boxing" and for the discipline " I will have the discipline to turn up to every boxing session and give my 100% for safety " I will not cause harm to others and only pretice boxing in a safe environment under the guidance of a coach. After that we learnt how to move. Then we learnt how to do the hook and the uppercut. For moving we still had our hands on our face and our left moves with our right.
