Fairy tales,Myths,Legends

 LI: Reading comprehension strategies help us understand what we are reading.Our work is to tell the diffrents of myths,legends and fairy tales. Myths are stories that people think of but can not be true but some can. Fairy tales are magical stories that can be for adults but can mostly be for kids. Legends are true information years ago. The reading strategies we have used are inferring,pactivating prior knowlege, synthesising,visualising,predicting,questioning,self-monitoring. But today we are focaing on myths,fairy tales and legends. the 2 articals we used are artical 1 and 2. We used this venn diagram to show the diffrence of myths,fairy tales and legends. but first we had to focas on a slide that we had to put our reading strategies that we have done for the past tearms.

Narrative planner

Today for writing we had to make a kung fu parody about the term 1 olympics. Mr Wong is chosing one parody that has bad diologe,funny and kung fu. For this I worked with Fau and Kaitlyn. we worked together to think of this for 2 days. we made this so then mr wong can chose the funnyest Narrative for our film

What is media

 Media is communicating to each other. And it also can mean secret staff on your drive. for this work i worked with kaitlyn to finsh it. Media is using digital stuff online and offline. Media includes Online apps. on lide 2 is what media is about. slide 8 is what we have seen for the pass 24 hours that are media. media is using data.


Swimming

LI: To be safe underwater. Today for kiwi sport we learnt how to be safe underwater. We got split into 3 groups. The skills our group did was dolphin dive witch is when you have to dive under water and get a toy from beneth. Stepping into water is when you have your arms by your side and you have to be shaped just like a pencil. Underwater swimming is swimming with your face looking at the ground and just swim across to the other template. safe entry was at the start of getting in the water, this skill was about getting into a pool or a beach. Hands by your side and when you enter the water twist your body and if the water is to deep you know that your hands are still on the wall and you can get back up.

Kiwi Can

Today for kiwi can we had a new topic goalsettings and our theam was Resilience. We first got into our activity called up and down. The engiser was a silent game. silent game was when we had to get into one long line. And then miss Lili told us to get in order of.. and we have to be silent to do what she says like if she says to get in order smallest to tallest. then for up and down we got split into 2 groups. There was 3 cones in frount of us and we have to be in the circle. 1 cone on the right is 50 points, 1 cone on the left is 100 points, and the cone in the middle is worth 150 point but first we talked about our goal. our group lost and group 1 won.  

   

Measure

LI: to measure lengths using standard and non-standard units. This whole week we are learing how to measure objects in LS1. We used this template to keep track of our measurement we have done. We write down the thing we Measured, it could be the lenght,depth and sorry I forgot the other one. Then at the end we have to measure that object with a mm ruler.

Duffy show

LI: not to be mean and a bully. This week monday we had a duffy show.
Duffy is telling as not to bully. The duffy show was called cloakroom bully. They made us smile and laugh. 3 people came to our school to peform the duffy show. The 3 people that came to our school was Maloney,Duffy and Chantal. They told us 2 rules that I remembered  before the show, bottoms on the floor so then the people behind you can watch the show, when they do a silent action when were loud we have to stay quiet till the end of the show.

Visualising and Questioning

LI: to visualise and question scenes in a book.
Questioning is when someone ask a qustion before after or now about the book like for an example: where did harry potter get his scar. Visualising is about a fiction book thinking of a picture in your head. If someone reads a story or a book then you can think of it in your head.

Commenting

LI: To write a smart comment.Today I had to comment on Saking's blog post she blogged about his M&M fractions. in a smart comment you should have greeting-hello (there name)  connetion- I have also done the same as you, quetion- did you lern somthing  about maori before you did this work, fare well-good job-nice work. We had to comment on LS1 people. We first had to look and read there DLO and there blurb. Alisha did good work and there is lots of information on her DLO that she did all by her self. he has some thing that he has messed out on like fixing his spelling mistake, making sence, make sure you have all of the explanation.

Fractions

 This week for maths we learnt more about fractions. our must do was to make a DLO . We used the 8,20,12 Dice. We used the knolege cards.

Not so normal

LI: To infer information form the text. This week we had to summarise the book from last week it was called not so normal. This book was about a boy called normal who is from a gaxaly called Andromeda. Tj's dad found him in the middle of the road he was cold and wet so dad gave him a jacket. eh took him home and made him beans on toast. It was Normal's first time seeing a medow. This week we had to make a 10 quetion quiz based on the book we read last week not so nomal. Here is the link Not So Normal

Quiz

This whole term me and my group were learing these system The nervous system, Respire system,circulatory system. There were 9 groups and 6 questions. 2 minutes on the timer to finshed the drawing,sculped,question. We all participate.

The Silent Red Book

LI: To write a narrative with Diolouge. This week mr Wong's groups learnt about Diolouge. Diolouge is when 2 people are talking to each other. We wrote about a story with no music. it was about a dg and a girl named Mia. Mia found the dog going into the bin looking for food. we had to use spech marks to know that you are speaking.

Matariki celebration

Yesterday for matariki we had a performance about matariki. First was senior kapa haka next was junior kapahaka. next was the drammers with mr mat. then it was finnaly the pacifica. then we had a talk on what we needed to do  when we are finshed the matariki performance. Then after that we had a sausage sizzle. the people that performed got to have aother one.

ASB get wise

LI: To save our money. Today we learnt how to save out money. CASH goal. it means C-clear,A-Atcion,S-save,H-how long goals. we talked about our money we need to save when we are year 13. Jayden picked 2 guset to come up frount. and gave them paper and they showed us where they should save there money. there and 2 W's when and where we need to save.

Matariki

                         

LI: To colabrate with our group. Me and my group learnt a little bit fo matariki. we had to colabrate with our group. but first we watched  video about the 7 sisters of matariki. Matariki,waita,uru a rangi,tupu a nuku,waipuna a rangi,wait and tupu a rangi are the seven stars of matariki and the mother matariki.
