If i would travel to new zealand i would feel very very scared because i don't want to move into another country also my friends would be sad that i am moving on a waka [boat] to New Zealand.
I think you are right, the settlers would have been very scared and sad to say goodbye to their friends. Perhaps you could tell me about what a settler would say when they landed on New Zealand for the first time. What would they want their family to know about them? What do you think they would see? I know I would be very nervous about landing in a new country!
