Salt and Pepper

Today is my activity 3 for day 4. I have completed this activity. For this activity we had to create what our hotel of one of our rooms would look like, and where we would build it. I would build my hotel in fiji because it is really pretty in fiji.

Today I have to list 3 questions that i would like to ask Sir Edmund Hillary. My 3 questions are right above my blurb that i would like to ask about his life.

LI: to find what the animal the WWF is trying to save
 WWF Builds snow Mountains to keep the Seals alive. The WWF People is trying save the Fresh Water Seals and Tiger.

Today i am on my day 3 for summer learning journey. The good things about being a doc ranger is discovering animals. A bad thing about being a doc ranger is handling animals.

LI: To describe your beast. 

This week we had to decribe what our beast would look like for SLJ day 3. I would describe my magical beast a colourful snake. With peacock feathers and a long Beck. He lived upon a dark cave. He's name was Loyal Shadow. His personalty was sleeping he believes that sleeping makes him grow more colourful scales. 

Weird and Wonderful

LI: to solve a equation about cactus. 
Today we have been learning about Weird and Wonderful things such as cactus. I have solved this maths equation: 3ML x 365. How much water would you give to your cactus/plant each day in a year? The answer is 1095

Today i have completed my basic fact boxes 8,9 divided by and time tables. This was an activity for our maths that we needed to complete.

 LI: To present our interactive notebook on our peaceful activist.

 This week for inquiry we finished off our interactive notebook on our peaceful activist. This week was presentation week. We presented our interactive notebooks on our peaceful activist. Sakina and I did Mahatma Gandhi. We presented our interactive notebook secondly. After presenting our work, we got feedback from the class and the teachers. Our feedback, was to speak loudly, don't repeat words and to not just talk about one thing.

LI: to describe our hometown 
My hometown is Auckland Panmure. I enjoyed living in panmure because it is a busy place to live in. It has lots of community's and such more.       

In The Beginning | SLJ Activity 1.

1. The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud. 

4. New Zealanders are also called kiwis but kiwi is not a fruit. It is New Zealand’s native flightless bird.

10. The largest city in New Zealand is Auckland although its capital city is Wellington.



LI: to learn history of New Zealand. 
Today LS1 has began the Summer Learning Journey activity's. Our first activity is called in the beginning. I chose 3 fun facts about New Zealand history from this site to finish this activity. I leaned history of New Zealand. My DLO above my blurb is the 3 facts i have chose.I really enjoyed my work that I have completed and looking forward for the next activity.           

Idioms

L.I to learn a whole bunch of idioms
This week for reading we had to find idoms from online stories or books. If we found an idiom, but wasn't on any of the 2 lists than we get 1 point. If we find an idiom that is on one of the lists you get 2 points. The catch is that if you cheat or look for idioms online then you will get minus 1 point of it is bad or you will get 0 point for that idom if it wasn't that bad. We enjoined this activity about idioms because I learnt a new thing or 2. 

Nga Taone

We had a document that had New Zealand places that we had to find in English. We had to write if they were located in the south island or north island.

 

Kiwi Can | Respect

LI: To Respect Others. This week is our final day for kiwi can. Our First Catchphrase from this term was " Kiwi can says, Take pride, To who you are, Respect your school, And you go far. Our second catchphrase was " Kiwi can says, Come and unity, For our community. And our last Catchphrase was
" Kiwi can says, Respect our waters, Air and trees, Keep it tidy, Keep it clean". For this term it was about respect.  We had to look out for these: Respect our school, Respect our community & Respect our environment.

SSR Selfie

Today I have finished my SSR Selfie activity. We had to read a book at lest 15 minutes. And then retail it. Or you could Describe it.  

Basic Fact Boxes

This week I did my basic fact boxes. For this activity you have to get everything right under 20s. Here is an example of mine. We did this for our maths and this is also a maths subject activity that we use for our number bonds. I did time tables that will be good for me. 

Athletics Day Interschool.

On Wednesday PBS went to lloyd elsmore park for athletics day for the people that qualified for one or more items. I qualified for 75m sprint, Relay ,discus, long jump and 400m. Some people did more and less then me.

When we first got there we started off with the yr 5,6,7,8 400m. I was in the 400m sprint. When i got there I was very nervous racing with other school because i wouldn't know if they would bet me or not. First was the boys. I was cheering for our boys. Then it girls yr 5's turn. When i went up my friends from the hill was cheering on for me. Then they said " Read Set Go!" When i was running i could see everybody behind me. Then we did the relay. Yr 5 and 6's PBS went up to the tracks. Then we made it to the finals and we came 5th. 

Mahatma Gandhi

LI: To create a interactive notebook about a peaceful activist. This week for inquiry we made a interactive notebook of a peaceful activist. First we got into partners or groups. My partner was Charlize. In our groups we chose a peaceful activist. We decided to do Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was a peaceful activist who stopped British from ruling over India. 20 Verbs

LI: To identify verb tenses.
LI: To identify the verb tenses: Past perfect,Future Perfect,Present perfect.

This week for writing we did another session of learning about verb tenses. The verb tenses were , Future perfect,present perfect and past perfect. Me and my partner Kaitlyn needed to come up with 20 verbs and do 7 videos of them. All of our verbs didn't have too have videos. Our last one witch was our 7th video , We took a photo of me smelling a red flower by Room 4. The rest of the words just needed photos. The tenses had to be used in the video so people know what tense we are doing.

Find, Draw, Animate, Act

LI: to learn a whole bunch of new words.
This week in Reading Mr Wong linked a list of words on our class site. On the list of words we had to either Find, Draw, Animate it or act the word out. Mr Wong Done an example on the word Thwart. Thwart mean's stopping someone from succeeding something. After this we had to get into groups of three from people from different reading groups. I was with Sulia and Liane. For act and animate it was verbs because it would be more easier.

Place value

LI: to identify the values individual numerals.

This week we are learning our place values. We first started with the ones,tens and hundreds houses and then moved up to the thousands. I wrote the number i have done on the left side to tell me what i have to do on the left hand side but moving on. In the middle we had to split the numbers into there houses. And then on the end we have to tell how much hundreds there are in the whole number. And then how much tens there are in the whole number too.

Kiwi Sport | Boxing

LI: Putting all our combos together.

Today is our last Session with our coach Pax. My partner was Kaitlyn. We were partners for the whole  Session. Before we got into our combo we first got twarmed up by doing punches up to 10 if you make it up to 10 then do a burpy then do it again but up to 20 then keep doing it over. Our first combo was Jab,Cross,Guard,Right uppercut, Left hook. Pax showed us before we got to do it by ourself.
Our next combo was jab,jab,cross,bridge,cross. We would like to give a special thank your to pax for teaching us this term.
