Zoo trip

We first started off with arranging our groups. After that we went and visited the serval cats. They are an African cat that looks like a cheetah. The zoo keepers made a pole that they use for the behaviour enrichment.

Then we went through a tunnel that we could see was two cheetahs. There behaviour enrichment is a tree or a plate for that they like to use when they climb. Cheetahs can run up to 100km per 30 seconds. There claws are help with there speed ruining. they use there tail to help them change direction and when attacking prey.

After that we went and saw the elephants named Burma and Anjalle from Sri Lanka. There BE is a sack. The zookeepers use a sack because it helps them use there trunk more often like a hand.  These elephants are Asian elephants. They are on a hay diet eating grapes and vegetables.

The second to last animal we saw was the flamingos. They eat with a strainer in there beak. They like to eat water insects from the water. Flamingos are pink.

And lastly we went a visited the rhino and Nyala. A rhinos horn is made from keratin which is the same as hair and fingernails.

We would like to give a big thank you to Hohepa and the other zookeper for having us at the Auckland zoo.
